Where in the world can one bask in the sun on endless, unspoilt beaches, in the morning and then spend the afternoon Game Spotting from your own car in local Big 5 filled Game Reserves just up the road... Kenton On Sea.

And Woodlands Country Cottages is ideally positioned for you to do just that. Turn RIGHT from our gates for a 3 km drive to a choice of beaches, river mouths or beach restaurant. Turn LEFT for a short drive up our road to enjoy a wild animal experience at no cost. Woodlands Cottages, Cabins and Chalet are all tucked away in the Woodland surrounds, privacy and absolute peace guaranteed... unless the resident Turacas (Knysna Loeries) join you at breakfast or the Sunbird's rustle the leaves to wake you. All accommodation is entirely different, some JUST for the romantic - the various "Couples Cabins" are very secluded in the treed surrounds but never isolated.

These Cabins are sought after for Honeymooners and are fully equipped for casual cooking OR breakfasts and meals are served to the cabin. All have both indoor bathrooms PLUS OUTDOOR, OPEN AIR "BOMA BATHS", a real Bath tucked away under the trees and night sky - enjoy a warm soak under the stars OR Birdwatch while you soak! HONEYMOON PACKAGES are most sought after as meals are included and super activities such as River Cruises, Beach Horserides, day visit to Bathurst and so forth.

Other Cabins are more spacious, ideal for small families and enjoy the same privacy PLUS Mum and Dad Bush Bath in the Outdoor Baths. All Cottages have their own Braais and utensils, and hours are spent under our African Sky "Sizzling the Sausage".

The Larger Mambele Chalet with its unique outdoor corner bath and spacious deck snuggled in the Bush surrounds is a particular favourite for 2 couples plus a sprinkling of Littlies or for a large family.

For those folk needing a more cumfy "Back Home Feel", the Potters Cottage does just the trick. A restored Pottery Studio, this unit is extremely spacious and tastefully appointed - each en suite bedroom has its own private patio in the woodlands surround for early morning quiet time. A deck leads down to a boma style braai area in the treed surround.

All Cottages enjoy their own space and are a Birdlovers Must Do! We pride ourselves on being the stepping stone for aspiring birders as birds are aplenty and are encouraged with all available scraps plus the unique Tomato Sauce Bottle feeders can be seen peeping out the foliage at each Cottage. So, sit yourself down with binocs and observe. Many helpful Birdbooks around.

All Cottages are fully self catering with an outdoor braai too. Each has its own TV for the leisure moments OR sport day afternoons. Down in our atmospheric Garden Room, a big Screen awaits for Match Day Moments. A small pub soothes the excited banter. Our Bush Bistro is available for daily breakfasts served in the Garden Room OR up in the privacy of your Cottage. Cakes, coffees and light meals too.

A short path from each Cottage leads to our Boma Style Swimming Pool area where drinks and snacks during summer months are on offer - remember to enjoy your complimentary drink.

Woodlands is ideally situated for a Day Trip to Addo Elephant Park. Spend a day at one with the Ellies, and drive home at leisure among the many local game reserves. Enjoy a curious giraffe along the way or the lone rhino often appears alongside the fences. A day spent visiting the town of Port Alfred - 20 min drive away - enjoying the quaint and quirky shops or the picturesque Marina or Art Gallery and Museum. Turn inland for a short drive to Bathurst - No Thirst like Bathurst - you're sure to enjoy an ale and snack. Don't forget the lookout viewpoints... but then Bev and the informed staff at Woodlands Country Cottages will have taken care of informing you, together with a map or two as to what To Do and Where To Go.
